Become The Recognized Expert In Your Field
Everybody trusts an expert. No one wants to do business with a company that they feel might not be credible. Consumers want the best.
If that's the case, then give them the best. Set yourself apart from your competition by becoming the recognized expert in your industry or field.
One of the easiest ways to do this is to write articles for local papers and submit them, write a monthly piece for your Chamber of Commerce magazine. If you're going to buy ad space, then buy a column so you can give information that your prospects would likely need. Publish reports on certain related subjects. We have even bought blocks of radio time for our own talk show. This works great.
But one of the least expensive and extremely effective ways to become an expert is to publish a newsletter.
A newsletter is a great tool because it is usually a monthly piece. It educates and informs. It can get you in front of hard to see prospects.... propel you from small clients to larger ones.
It's also a great way to keep in front of your current customers and remind them of upcoming events, tell them of different products or services, etc.
But it will definitely set you apart from your competitors especially if you make it a really good piece. Remember, if they trust your opinion and advice, they'll probably buy from you.
